SimpleExpense Manager

Simple Expense Manager — privacy policy

Effective date: 26 October 2026. Developer: Farzpal Singh. Contact: farz.bhullar@gmail.com.

Simple Expense Manager is intended for adults aged 18 and over.

Simple Expense Manager helps you record and review your personal finances. Financial records, account/category names, budgets, debts, goals, recurring transactions and receipt images are stored on your device. The app does not send those records to RevenueCat or AdMob.

Optional SMS Import

SMS Import is optional. After you enable incoming SMS access, the app detects supported financial messages on your device, including while the app is closed. It does not read your historical SMS inbox or upload messages for detection. OTPs and unrelated messages are ignored. Detected messages, sender information and extracted transaction details are stored locally for your review; no transaction is saved automatically. You may also paste or share a bank message with the app. Optional account matching stores only the last four account digits, and you can change them in the account editor. Original imported messages and matching digits are included in financial backups, including Google Drive backups you enable. You can turn automatic capture off in SMS Import settings or revoke SMS permission in Android settings. Stored import records remain until you clear app data or uninstall; existing backup copies must be deleted separately.

Optional Google features

If you connect Google Drive, the app can upload backups containing your financial records, receipt images and selected settings to your private Drive application-data folder. It can list, restore, export and delete these backups at your request. The latest cloud backup is retained; after a successful new backup, previous copies are removed. Optional daily backups run when you next open the app that day. Google processes this data under its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

If you link a Google account for PIN recovery, the app uses the account identifier and email to recognize that account. Google authentication is handled by Google. The app does not receive your Google password. Disconnecting an account does not automatically delete its existing cloud backups; delete unwanted backups through the app before disconnecting.

Purchases

Google Play handles payment details. RevenueCat processes purchase history, product and entitlement information, an app-generated anonymous user identifier, and relevant device/application information to verify purchases and restore Pro access. Your financial ledger is not sent to RevenueCat. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy. Subscriptions can be managed through Google Play.

Advertising

The free version can display Google AdMob banner ads. Advertising services may process device/advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information to deliver ads, prevent fraud and measure performance. Where required, a consent form is shown before ads are requested; advertising privacy choices can be reviewed in Settings when available. Pro users do not receive in-app ads. See https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

App lock, permissions and backups

PIN protection is stored locally; PINs and app-lock authentication settings are excluded from exported financial backups. Biometric verification is performed by Android; the app does not receive biometric templates. Camera/photo access is used when you attach receipt images. Notification permission is used for reminders. Sharing/export destinations are chosen by you. Backup archives contain sensitive financial information and should be stored securely.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete records, reset application data or uninstall. Deleting a source such as an account or recurring transaction preserves its transactions unless you explicitly choose the separate option to delete related transactions and confirm the warning. Exported and cloud backups remain until separately deleted. You can revoke Google's app authorization in your Google account. Purchase records are retained by Google and RevenueCat according to their policies and legal requirements; deleting local application data does not cancel a subscription.

Optional in-app feedback

When you tap Send in the feedback form, your message, feedback type, optional reply email, current page name, app version and device/browser details are sent through Web3Forms to the developer. The app does not automatically attach financial records or receipt images. Web3Forms processes submissions under its privacy policy. Feedback is used to investigate issues, improve the app and reply when contact information is provided. Contact the developer to request deletion of feedback.

Google Play reviews

The app may request Google Play’s native review card after sufficient use. Google decides whether to show it. If you submit a rating or review, Google Play handles that information under its terms and privacy policy. Only eligibility and last-attempt dates are stored locally to limit prompts; they are not included in financial backups or sent as app analytics.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions or requests, contact Farzpal Singh at farz.bhullar@gmail.com. If you email support, your email address and the information you include are used to respond to your request. Avoid sending financial records or backup archives unless needed to resolve your issue. This policy may be updated as the application changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
